Word of the Day...

somnolent \SOM-nuh-luhnt\, adjective:
1. Sleepy; drowsy; inclined to sleep.
2. Tending to cause sleepiness or drowsiness.

In his case, restrained ultimately meant boring, as the audience was lulled into a somnolent state.

The Great Canadian apartment search

Today I am apartment searching. I'm not that picky, really...well...maybe a little. But I ask, is it so hard to find a place to include the following?
-wood floors or at least new carpeting
-lots of light (preferably with a patio)
-spacious...maybe a den too?
-and crossing my fingers...a dishwasher

Now I know these apartments are not unheard of, but why oh glorious Vancouver, are these places so veiled? I've been laboriously searching online for months, and every time I find one that might just make the cut, it's snatched up in 2.5. I'm starting to really resent Vancouver for this reason. It sucks that everyone and their dog is looking to move, at any time, always. I say more affordable housing!! Because the lord knows I'm not about to pay $1800/mo. for what I'm looking for. I find that it's still ridiculous that even the crappiest places are a grand per month minimum.

So on that note, anyone, if you know of a place that is remotely similar to above and under about $1100/mo....please let me know!! Thank you kindly :)

Oh thank heaven for cheap Junk removal!!!

I can't believe it's almost been three months since I've last posted, my apologies. Here's a quick update on what's new and inneresting (semi).

1. I got a promotion at work (woot woot!). Though my title is CSR II (supervisor) I'm sort of a jack of all trades at this point. I'm business analyzing, training, and doing the supervisor thang...pretty neat and I'm learning TONS of new things.
2. On that note, I'm sort of kicking myself for not choosing business school over broadcasting school, could have come in realllllly handy right about now. BUT...I'm making due, kicking ace and taking names!
3. Currently waiting for the junk removal that I found on Craistlist to come haul away the years accumulation of crap. I'm so excited I found this, only $45 bones! Sounds like a far cry better than $300 1-800-got-junk quoted ...losers.
4. I took my first roadtrip with my newly minted license avec Mishka... super fun time, I got to visit with fam and check out seattle!

more to come later....
