WORD OF THE DAY!

I almost forgot the word of the day:

malediction

DEFINITION: (noun) the act of calling down a curse that invokes evil.
EXAMPLE: In the fairy tale "Sleeping Beauty," the princess is trapped in a death-like sleep because of the malediction uttered by an angry witch.
SYNONYMS: curse, denunciation

Update: ginger fiasco

Thanks to good ol' Mark D... I was informed that the Ginger I used in my tea was actually pickled pink ginger that goes with sushi, and only sushi. Apparently there is a big difference. A BIG DIFFERENCE! So needless to say, my whole tea escapade was pointless. So never mind my previous blog about ginger being the devil!!

Yowsas...I really don't know how I get myself in these situations sometimes. As my sister would say..."REEL IT IN...D"

Probably not going to be doing too much more blogging tonight. I'm going on a hot date with a Mr. Neo Citran. It's always a good nights' rest when he's around.

Also, check out http://fortefusion.blogspot.com, you'll like!!

Ginger is NOT cool...

If someone tries to tell you to drink ginger tea when you're sick...laugh at them, say, "you can't fool me" and run away. Far away.

I tried this last night. I think the biggest problem is I put about a pound of Cayenne pepper in it, instead of the teaspoon it called for. Then, instead of ginger root, I used the ginger I got from the sushi...hmm...maybe it's not the tea that's the problem, but me?

Regardless, I'm a wounded soul. After the Cayenne-nasal-burnage wore off, all that was left was a bitter sushi/leaf taste.

YUM. learn from my mistakes people!

SIDE NOTE: I don't feel ANY better, but worse!

PS...those who have joined as followers all ready, a big THANK YOU! If I'm going to be a famous author one day, your name will be in my forward!! :) Also, if you like what you're reading and I'm even a shred of entertaining, pass the link on. I need as many followers as I can bribe :)

stunning...

So I had to post these pics. These pictures are the view I get to enjoy Monday-Friday at work. My office is just along the Seawall by False Creek, just across from Yaletown. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do! It doesn't get much better....

Word of the Day!

primogeniture-

primogeniture • \prye-moh-JENN-uh-chur\
• noun
*1 : the state of being the firstborn of the children of the same parents
2 : an exclusive right of inheritance belonging to the eldest son

Example Sentence:Brian argued that primogeniture gave him the right to the first piece of cake among his siblings.

Did you know
?
In many civilizations, past and present, the state of being the oldest among siblings is a key component of inheritance law. “Primogeniture,” which first appeared in English in the early 17th century, derives from the Late Latin “primogenitura,” a combination of the Latin “primus” (“first”) and “genitura” (“birth”), from the past participle of “gignere” (“to beget”). For those who are youngest in birth order, a similar word applies -- “ultimogeniture” -- but this word is newer (first appearing in English in 1882) and much less common.

REWARD IF FOUND!!! No, not really, but it would be really, REALLY awesome.

One final thought, or plea, for the night:

Okay so if you're an LA INK fan like myself, then you would probably know what I'm referring to. However, if you're not you will have no idea what I'm about to say. Anyway, on a recent episode of LA Ink, Kat Von D. did a tattoo of a butterfly on the shoulder of a girl. However, this was no average butterfly. If you looked super close inside the butterfly, you would see that the wings of the butterfly were actually two skulls facing each other. Well, I pretty much fell in love with this tattoo. I may never get it, although I'm hoping I'll have the courage to one day. But...there is one hitch in my master plan...I cannot find it anywhere! I've tried looking on every which possible website imaginable. If you know what I'm talking about and know where I can find an image of this tattoo, let me know! Much appreciated!

one of my favs...

Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life;
Whole misadventured piteous overthrows
Do with their death bury their parents' strife.
The fearful passage of their death-mark'd love,
And the continuance of their parents' rage,
Which, but their children's end, nought could remove,
Is now the two hours' traffic of our stage;
The which if you with patient ears attend,
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.

This is one of my all time favorite pieces of writing, I could recite this from memory thanks to good 'ol Leo and those baby blues that so caught my adolescent eye.

Hmmmm...

I'm up and rolling again! I had one of these nifty blogs a few months back, but it soon proved to be not so nifty at all, (only because this blog concept has been utterly alien to me thus far). If for some reason you can actually see my blog, bare with me, and keep checking back! Hopefully my blogger-ific skills will improve as I learn this whole new world!

Cheers:)

PS.. I really think that the above photo perfectly captures me in all my curious/thoughtful/confused glory. I could be wrong.
